Almost all the conditions listed on this site will be covered by your insurance. This is because, unlike purely cosmetic procedures, the vast majority of these conditions are painful for the patient; or will become painful if left long enough. If a condition has a recognized (OPCS) surgical code e.g. W7910, W0850 etc; then health insurance benefit will be allowed. When using your health insurance, a GP referral letter is essential and you must talk with your insurance company before you come for your first consultation to obtain an authorization number and with some insurers, a claim form to be completed by the specialist.

Self-Funding / Private Insurance
Many patients fund their operations without health insurance cover. Our foot procedures are mainly undertaken on a day-case basis either under local anaesthetic or under local anaesthesia with sedation. Some patients prefer a full General Anaesthetic and this can be easily arranged, providing you are medically fit enough. Please bear in mind that use of General Anaesthesia will require an Anaesthetist and use of The Harley Street Clinic (www.theharleystreetclinic.com) facility, will add between £900-£2000 onto your costs, depending on the type of surgery and whether you will be required to stay overnight. The vast majority of foot procedures in this practice are undertaken as day-case procedures.
