Cosmetic Foot Surgery
The term "Cosmetic Foot Surgeon" - unlike the USA - is only now becoming a recognized term in the UK. As an NHS-trained Consultant Podiatric (foot) Surgeon, I currently hold an NHS Consultant Post, but also work in the private sector on Harley Street in Central London. As such I have performed over 6000 foot and ankle procedures and feel it is very important that patients are made aware that the foot is a unique and complex mechanical structure. Operating on any foot deformity, whether for foot pain or cosmesis, requires a complete understanding of foot biomechanical function, which is essential for excellent post-operative results. This highly specialized area using biomechanical principles is unique and integral to the training of Podiatric Surgeons.
